Animal Welfare
Ecuador, one of the most megadiverse countries in the world, faces a significant challenge regarding the trafficking and illegal appropriation of wild animals, particularly in the Amazon rainforest.
Ecuadorian legislation prohibits the possession of wildlife; individuals who own or market wild animals or derived products face imprisonment. Our rescue centers receive animals confiscated by environmental authorities during inspections of markets, squares, and private homes. These animals are often victims of illegal trafficking, having been kept in confined spaces with inadequate diets. Our objective is to engage society in finding ways to educate the population on biodiversity protection.
