Elderly Care Program in Quito and Cuenca.
Program Overview Our foundation supports over 400 abandoned seniors, many of whom are homeless or former street vendors. We provide comprehensive services including food, clothing, medication, and occupational workshops.
Our goal is to promote physical and spiritual well-being for those who often suffer from neglect or low self-esteem.
Volunteers assist with a variety of daily activities based on their experience and interests. Primary responsibilities include feeding and general care, as well as supporting recreational activities such as dance, theater, games, crafts, and physical exercise. We also welcome volunteers to help with food preparation or to develop their own activity initiatives.

Program Highlights
• Companionship & Social Support: The primary role involves “friendly visits,” where volunteers engage in one-on-one conversations, share meals, or read aloud to seniors. This is critical for seniors without nearby family.
• Recreational & Leisure Activities: Volunteers assist staff in leading group events such as bingo, arts and crafts sessions, card games, and trivia.
• Technology Assistance: Intergenerational programs often feature younger volunteers teaching seniors how to use smartphones, video calls, and social media to stay connected with their own families.
• For Volunteers: A renewed sense of purpose, meeting new people, developing empathy, gaining new skills like communication, and making a tangible community impact.
